Perfect practice make for perfect performance.
You may know where the fish are, but getting them to bite is a different story. If you are having some challenges finding them, I hope you got some tips from this video by Bryan Thrift.
Key Take Aways:
– Practice the right way
– Think Fast and assess your surroundings:
-how deep or shallow is the water?
-what kind of structure you are on?
-Start with an open mind
-His suggestion is to rig up 20 to 30 rods with different baits.
-You can’t underestimate the effectiveness of a normally seldom used bait.
-If you can, start planning a week ahead of time
-write down what bait, line weight, and rods you plan to use
-research the lake
-what’s the history of the lake?
-what’s the main food the the fish eat?
-what is the bait the locals use?
-what areas of the lake normally produce?
For some of your practice rods, do the exact opposite of what the local’s do. Maybe it will be more productive for you when you do the opposite of what they are doing.
Which way lands you more fish? What the local’s do, or what they are not doing?
There’s always a better way to do things.
Where are the “anomaly” fish? Those that are not where they are supposed to be.
** Most of the fishing teams are going to go after the fish in the “common” places, not necessarily where the “anomaly” fish are hanging out.
Just maybe where are the teams are hanging out is not the best place to look.
